Suffering Well: Part 6

ʉۢ Eric Sandras

Drawing on Galatians 6:2-5 and years of walking with people through wildfires, refugee camps, and personal loss, this Palm Sunday message draws a vital distinction between a "burden" (baros, a crushing weight meant to be shared in community) and a "load" (the daily responsibilities each person is meant to carry themselves). The heart of it is an honest charge to those who care for others: to carry someone's burden is not to fix or rescue them but simply to step underneath the weight alongside them, just as Christ came under the weight of the cross for us. The practical invitation is to do good better and longer through presence over answers, consistency over grand gestures, and one simple question: "What would it look like for me to help you carry this burden right now?"
